I covered the past 25 years; it’s time to look ahead. I asked myself, what would a wedding look like in 2041?
Essentially like weddings do now because weddings today are not that different from weddings of the past. Colors change, décor is more or less elaborate, fads come and go, but a wedding is a wedding. There are a few things I hope the future brings and a few things I hope never change.
What I hope for in 2041; every engaged couple who wants a wedding has one, the cost of a beautiful day with friends and family will always be attainable. My beloved wedding community is thriving working seamlessly together to provide outstanding service and supporting each other in all things. I hope every couple sees a professional wedding planner as a necessity, not a luxury.
By 2041 we have learned technology is a tool to better our lives, businesses and world not run them or replace us. No amount of clever coding can replace the human heart and mind. We honor celebrating face to face as the new black.
What I hope is not around in 2041? The same things I wish were not around now. The predators who prey on unprotected couples, those people who make my beloved wedding community look bad. I hope we have eliminated them by 2041.
In my perfect 2041 weddings will only be about love, joy, and celebration. My wedding community will have grown to be respected and admired for doing business with integrity even when no one is looking.
My deepest wish for you in 2041 is you always take the time to celebrate love and commitment. When two humans find each other and choose to spend their lives as one, what can’t be lost is the capacity to celebrate that joy.
